Walking Francis

Soulful indie folk

Dreamed up in a Berlin backyard with Australian indie-pop wünderkind Billy Otto, Walking Francis brings his new single forth like a vision or a revelation. Mixed in Nashville by veteran engineer Caleb Miller Harris, "Til You're By My Side" is an anthem for bleary-eyed lovers, an ode to the Disney era's jaded children. "It was well into the early hours of the morning," the singer recalls. "I was in Paris, heartbroken and lost. I had been in love with someone longer than I could remember, and my whole world was falling apart." After years of false starts, Walking Francis began his recording career in a Byron Bay garage with surf-rock maestro Alain De Carne. These sessions yielded the single "Get Back Home" which received notable airplay on underground radio. Coming off the back of shows in Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels and Berlin, alongside appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Gentse Feesten, this bohemian folkster is only getting started. Triple J has called his music "introspective rock 'n roll."
