Bologna, UNESCO Creative City of Music, awards Ron, one of the most important and popular Italian singer, with the Turrita d’Argento prize.
On Monday, Dec. 23rd 2019, at 4.30 pm, the Deputy Mayor at Bologna Municipality, Matteo Lepore, awards the singer as a sign of great admiration and appreciation, thus joining the bolognaise artistic community.
Rosalino Cellamare, aka Ron (name inspired by Lucio Dalla), starts his career in 1970 when, not yet 17 years old, takes the stage of the Festival of Sanremo with the song “Pa’ diglielo a Ma’”, immediately gaining public notoriety and popularity. Friendship and cooperation with Lucio, (for example during the drafting of Piazza Grande and other experimental albums), active concerts, among them “Banana Republic” with Dalla and De Gregori in 1979 and an interlude in the cinema, form the artist and launch him in the world of Italian music.
In February 2018, Ron participates again in the Festival of Sanremo with “Almeno pensami”, unpublished by Lucio Dalla and included in the album LUCIO! to celebrate the 75th birthday of Lucio Dalla. In the album there are some of the greatest hits of Dalla, rearranged and reinterpreted by Ron.
In April 2019 the live album LUCIO! was released: it contains a series of unique and exciting duets, performed by the great voices of the Italian music. Then in May 2019 Ron begins his LUCIO!! Tour in the theatres.
