The hundred young musicians of Orchestra dei Giovanissimi di Bologna (OgB) were the protagonists in November 2013 of a Spanish tour which saw them engaged in two important dates in Barcelona, in the evocative setting of the Monastery of Pedralbes and the Auditorio E. Toldrà.
The young talents, heralds of culture and delegates of the Italian musical educational system, have captivated both Spanish audiences and teachers of music by performing a classical repertoire, leaded by five conductors chosen among the teachers who are concerned with the education of the young musicians.
In collaboration with the institutions of the capital of Catalonia and the Italian Institute of Culture, the OGB performed with the pupils of the school of music Can Ponsic and was able to visit the historic “House of the Italians” where the chamber ensemble of the Orchestra met the students of the Italian School and played for them.
The OGB project, sponsored by the Conservatorio “GB Martini “in Bologna and Teatro Comunale di Bologna and supported by the Fondazione Del Monte, is coordinated by Riccardo Martinini and obtained the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) for the high educational content and the representative value of the Italian Music System.
