The interest in ocarina, the terracotta wind instrument from Budrio (BO), has been growing both in the Asian context, where it was adopted in the musical propaedeutics instead of the recorder, and in Eastern Europe, especially in Poland, thanks to the Italian Institute of Culture in Krakow, UNESCO Creative City of Literature.
The instrument tradition has been kept alive for decades by the Gruppo Ocarinistico Budriese (GOB) and in more recent times by the Molinella Ocarina Group (MOG).
The latter ensemble is composed of seven young Bolognese musicians led by Maestro Emiliano Bernagozzi who realizes the arrangements / adaptations of the pieces for ocarina.
The MOG tour in Poland with its Christmas concert on December 13th in Krakow – is part of a list of 19 projects selected within a call for the internationalisation of the Bolognese music scene 2017/18, aimed at supporting the international activities of musicians and music professionals through their participation in foreign exchange programmes, festivals and tours.
