Directly from the School of Popular Music Ivan Illich of Bologna, the musician Salvatore Panu make his laboratory of Italian Social Chant fly to Paris. The initiative discloses an anthology of songs of the popular and social Italian culture, selected by different historical periods. Starting from the Revolution, with the help of the music, there will be shed light on the period of “Restaurazione”, “Risorgimento”, the Unit of Italy, the two World Wars, till arriving to the Reconstruction, the “Hot Autumn” of 60’s, from the political songs through the Movements of 70’s.
In particular, it will be shown Chants of fight, of protest, anarchists, anticlericals, communists, antifascists, anti-militarists and against the war, anti-imperialists and anti-capitalists, of prison and exile, feminists, chants of women, of love, of satiric and para-liturgical tied to the ritual of the popular cultures of oral tradition.
The date is on Saturday 7th December, at the center Culture et Liberté of Paris (5, rue St. Vincent de Paul), from 2.00 p.m. till 6.00 p.m. Another French appointment, sponsored by the School of Popular Music Ivan Illich, is planned in Bordeaux, from 18th till 22th February 2014. The title of the Festival is “On the tracks of the Muses Conspiracy (Fourth Movement)”.
For which who are resting in town, in Bologna, on Sunday 8th December, Salvatore Panu, at the accordion and voice, will make a musical perform during the meeting that will see the writer Valerio Evangelisti showing his new book “Il Sole dell’Avvenire”. The date is at 6.30 p.m., at the XM24, in via Fioravanti 24.
