The Colombian Quartet Agile Ensemble will take part at the 2017 Infrasuoni Festival.
Thanks to the relationship between the Apennines festival and Bogotá , UNESCO City of Music, one of the best-known international colombian jazz ensemble will perform at Vergato (BO) in Piazza Capitani della Montagna on July 3, 2017 at 9 pm.
The quartet is made up of saxophone player Antonio Arnedo, former director of the Bogotá Conservatory, who mixes jam wih folk music from Atlantic and Pacific coasts and the Andean region; Elvis Diaz is one of the most promising new talents of the llanera harp, the traditional instrument of the immense Colombian plains, the principal instrument of Joropo; at the double bass Mario Criales, a classical musician who is comfortable with jazz and popular music: despite his age, he can already boasts several collaborations and tours around the world; at the cuatro, the young Zahira Nogueira, one of the most appreciated virtuoso of the typical South American strings instrument.
The Infrasuoni Festival, at his sixteenth edition, aims to bring the various languages of World Music to our Apennines, between the municipalities of Vergato and Marzabotto.
The concert is born from the collaboration between Bologna and Bogotá, both UNESCO Cities of Music, and is one of the 19 projects selected in the call for internationalisation of Bolognese music 2016/17 to help musicians, artists and other workers to perform on an international stage, through participation in festivals, tours and exchanges.
