The International choral Festival “Città di Bologna”, held every two years, is organized by Società Corale Euridice of Bologna. Now in its 10th edition, the Festival taking place from October 6 – December 20, 2016 will be a tribute to Pier Paolo Scattolin who has been the Artistic Director of the Euridice Choir for 40 years.
Like the past editions, the collaboration with Italian and foreign choirs will go on, this representing a key asset of musical experiences in terms of interpretation and composition. Stanislaw Krawczyński and Ciro Cau will be ones of the guest conductors of the Festival.
Besides the concerts for the big audience, the Festival aimes at keeping the connection with educational activities designed to bring young people to music and choral practice. In the framework of the project “Musical Paideia” by the Department of Education of the Emilia-Romagna Region, over 120 young people will be involved in a concert event organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Golinelli, the Association MEdianTE and the Network of Italian Youth Orchestras and Choirs.
Among the Italian ensembes, boasting the polyphonic choir Sant’Antonio Abate from Cordenons, the choir Studium Canticum from Cagliari and the choir Bachis Sulis from Aritzo, the Festival will feature two important German choirs: the Norddeutscher Figuralchor from Hanover and the Gürzenich Choir from Cologne, performing in some of the most notable venues of the city.
