A very important date for music lovers, on 16th October in Valencia. Teo Ciavarella from Bologna, musician and teacher of Piano at the Conservatory Frescobaldi of Ferrara, will perform at the Palau de les Arts.
The artist will have a concert with the quintet of Eddie Gomez, who will receive a Honorary Music Degree for his extraordinary musical career, awarded by the Berklee College of Music from its international campus in Valencia, in this occasion.
The concert is organized by the Berlklee College of Music of Boston, prestigious American institute where Ciavarella hold a Master Class each year. With this quintet, composed also by the flutist Matt Marvuglio, the saxophonist Marco Pignataro and the bassist Steve Bailey, Ciavarella registered his last album, which title is “Per Sempre”, in May 2012.
The city of Bologna is very grown fond of Teo Ciavarella. In 2001, he and the Professor Paolo Granata founded the Dams Jazz Orchestra, the official jazz Orchestra of Bologna University – now it is called Alma Jazz Orchestra. He’s also the artistic director of “Alma Entertainment”, a cultural association that promotes musical events and shows for Bologna University, like “Alma Jazz”, the International Festival of big bands of the University and the dates of “Mondays of Jazz” that now takes place at Bar Wolf in Bologna.
