Founded in 1980, Covo Club is one of the oldest rock clubs in Europe, and over the years, it has become a meeting house for indie, punk and rock music fans. An institution for the city of Bologna, the Covo Club is well-known for the quality its music and live concert programme. The range of internationally famous bands that have played on its stage is very impressive, especially considering the venue’s small size. From international celebrities like Mumford & Sons, Franz Ferdinand or The Libertines, to cult artists like Beach House, Animal Collective or The Decemberists. Covo Club has always hosted the best of Italian independent bands, like Afterhours, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Massimo Volume and Subsonica. Furthermore, it is considered the home of the alternative musical scene of Bologna, and many local bands went on from Covo Club to achieve national and international fame.
