School of Music specialized in the Suzuki Method
The CEMI association was born in Bologna in 1990 founded by the legendary violin theacher, Mrs Fiorenza Rosi .
CEMI is the only school in Bologna aknowledged by the ISI (Italian Suzuki Institute) and the ESA (European Suzuki Institute) for teaching the Suzuki Method and its main goal is to promote and develop kids music education through traditional and innovative methods with special regard to the Suzuki.
The peculiarity of this method makes possible an approach to the study of the musical instruments since verly early ages.
Practising is immediate, based on imitation – we learn to play as we learn to speak- listening and reproducing sounds – and on the family partecipation. Mom or dad (or granny!) attends the course with the little student in the first years to help reproducing daily at home recreational and educational activities learned at school.
This training requires strong collaboration between the teacher and the family.
Six different instruments courses are taught : violin, viola, cello, transverse flute, guitar and piano
Basic importance has the CML “Children Music Laboratory ” course: collective lessons to introduce the instrumental practice and to support the music studies before and alongside the Suzuki courses
And the last, CEMI offers lessons in solfège, orchestra and chamber music.
CEMI is in partnership with “ G. Frescobaldi” Conservatory in Ferrara and with “G.B.Martini” Conservatory in Bologna.
