19 projects have been selected for the Bolognese call for the internationalisation of music 2016/17, from a total of 45 applications. This call enables musicians, artists and other workers to perform on an international stage through the participation in festivals, tours and exchanges, and also welcomes artists from other UNESCO Creative Cities of Music.
A maximum of 3000 euros has been given to associations active in the metropolitan area of Bologna for projects realised between 1st January 2016 and 31 July 2017.
The associations selected are: Andlay for the Atse Tewodros Project; the Budriese Ocarina Group; the Molinella Ocarina Group; the Enea Migrant Project with the Bologna Baroque formation; the FontanaMIX group; Bologna Festival; Musica e Nuvole with the Apennine festivals “Eco della Musica” and “Infrasuoni”; Bo Ground for Music Freedom Day Italy; the Euridice Choral Society; Basmati for the tour of Suz; Eixample for the musician Iosonouncane; Visioni Trasversali for the GIUNGLA project of Emanuela Drei; Il Temporale with the youth orchestra BenTiVoglio; Arpeggi with the harpist group LYRAE; Locomotiv for the Ofeliadorme band; Hovoc for the Altre di B band; Soqquadro Italiano; Concordanze and Alivelab for the electronic music event “Ombre lunge”.
The proposals were judged taking into account the quality of the project in relation to creativity and innovation, economic sustainability and how well they represented the Bolognese area. Appreciated also were international links already in place between cities, such as the UNESCO Creative City of Music network, and the exchange initiatives with impressive partners who enhance Bologna’s reputation as a Creative City.
The grants used up the total of 50,000euros anticipated by the call.
The results are available on the “Concorsi e Avvisi” section of the Bologna City Council’s website.
