On 27th December, Onno Govaert and his musicians will perform at Bimhuis Restaurant, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
Drummer and instant composer Onno Govaert is given carte blanche at the Bimhuis. Onno Govaert is a crucial member of the Amsterdam jazz scene and part of the youngest generation of improvising musicians playing at underground clubs such as OT301 and Zaal 100.
At the Bimhuis Govaert will perform with two four-pieces, featuring several generations of Dutch improvisers. International guests of note are the like-minded Norwegian drummer Dag Erik Knedal Andersen and the Italian saxophonist Edoardo Marraffa, who’s a teacher of sax and ensemble music at the Popular School of Music “Ivan Illich” of Bologna.
The full line up is composed by: Onno Govaert, Dag Erik Knedal Andersen (drums), Tobias Delius, John Dikeman, Edoardo Marraffa (saxophone), Wilbert De Joode, Jasper Stadhouders (bass).
Jazz improvisation will also arrive in Bologna with three winter dates of Edoardo Maraffa, who is performing January 17th at BarazzoLive, February 1st at Menomale and February 14th at Spazio Indue.
