10th 17th and 22th of September: save these three unmissable appointment at Jewish Museum of Bologna. Gabriele Coen and his quintet present “Olam Tzelilim – Universal Jewish Sounds“, three nights of shows about popular Jewish music, reinterpreted in Jazz key.
Jewish music has always been a fusion of different traditions and sounds: Klezmer, Yiddish song and Sephardite music mix themeselves with the Rinascimental European music, the arab culture and at least with the American jazz, learned after the strong Jewish’s emigration in United States between XIX and XX Century.
Gabriele Coen and his quintet will introduce to us piece of Yiddish and Sephardite music combined with Jazz music, and a thematic concert of John Zorn’s songs. John Zorn who’s the paladin of the fusion between contemporary Jazz and the music of Jewish roots.
The concerts will take place in the Court of Jewish Museum, in the occasion of Bologna Estate 2013.
