Wednesday 17th december will be a day devoted to “Music for Health”, a project with a strong social meaning which is promoted by the Cultural Association Kaleidos, in Bologna. The programme includes: at 4.30 p.m., in the Oratorio of Santa Maria della Vita, a seminar on the topic “Music as a Therapy”; at 6 p.m., in Cappella Farnese, in the the City Hall building, a concert with rare or unpublished music piéces from the Bolognese music school, by composers like Corelli, Perti, Martini, Zavateri and Torelli.
“ Music for Health” is a project born in 2003 by initiative of M° Federico Ferri, who decided to use music to bring a message of solidarity and human warmth to all the people staying or working in hospitals and health structures of the Region Emilia Romagna – like inpatients, relatives, health staff and all those who want to see these contexts also as meeting places. In more than 10 years of concerts in various hospitals of Emilia Romagna, many people could be reached by music, thus finding some distraction and relief from pain and worries, mostly typical of this kind of places. The project has already been awarded with two medals and a silver plate signed by the President of Italian Republic.
