In the year of … is a sort of storytelling with music, scheduled every weekend at the International Museum and Library of Music from October 1 to December 10, 2016. The musicians themselves tell in words and music their art, inspired by musical anniversaries of the year.
In November Jazz Insight, the overview of Emiliano Pintori on the different forms of original African American production: from the icon Miles Davis, among the most influential musicians of the ‘900 not only in jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, the First Lady of Song and indefatigable performer of the great heritage of the American song; to Benny Goodman intelectual musician and leader of Swing Time, until Bud Powell, a giant of bebop and guru of modern jazz piano, ending with James Brown, the King of Soul and Funk.
“I Mestieri della Musica – La musica a Bologna raccontata dai protagonisti” (“Musical Professions – Music in Bologna as told by its protagonists“) is a series of six presentations that will take place from October 23 to December 4 at the International Museum and Library of Music.
Now in its second year, “I Mestieri della Musica” continues to explore what it means to “make music” in Bologna.
The 2016 edition organised by Pierfrancesco Pacoda comprises of six presentations delivered by various professional figures, who have been invited to speak about their work and about a process that involves not only originality and creativity but also industry: Murubutu, Federico Poggipollini, Spreaker, Maurizio Biancani di Fonoprint, Nicola Sani, Paolo Fresu.
To discuss a scene which is not only creative and artistic but also professional, this series of presentations brings together representatives from every stage of the creative process in the city today.
