The theatre company Instabili Vaganti, from Bologna, has flown to South Korea to present “Rags of Memory”, an international project of training and research on performing arts which explores the performing aspects of local traditions and compares elements of the Eastern culture with those of our Western tradition.
The company will work at the production of a show, “East meets West”, to be presented on 16th and 17th December at the Bluelight Theatre in Seoul. Directed and performed by Anna Dora Dorno, on stage with Nicola Pianzola and Sun Young Park, the play is a summary of the research process already done in South Korea and Italy. Before the show, a conference will be held in Incheon to present the work: an open workshop for Korean actors and performers, to explore the performing aspects of local traditions and put Eastern cultural elements in comparison with Western ones, modernizing them through an artistic creation process.
The “Rags of Memory” project started in 2006 with the aim to explore new ways of art expressions and theatre communication, through interaction with other disciplines such as cultural anthropology, visual arts, new media, dance and music.
