Important news at the opening of the 5th edition of the Giuseppe Alberghini Contest, dedicated to young musicians and composers of all nationalities, residents or domiciled in the Emilia-Romagna Region.
First of all, the official venue hosting the complex and long stages of the selections will be the renewed Teatro Biagi D’Antona in Castel Maggiore (BO), then two brand new important sections of instruments: Harp and Vocal Chamber Music, joining the six already existing: Piano, Solo strings, Wind solos, Classical guitar, Chamber instrumental formations and composition.
The jury, still to be completed, will be formed by Cristina Ferrari, Valentino Corvino, Francesca Pedaci, Patrizia Montanaro, Nazzareno Carusi, Giambattista Giocoli, Luigi Puxeddu, Stefano Rava, Alberto Mesirca and Cinzia Forte.
Application is subject to free registration; also a free team of expert accompanying pianists is available for all competitors .
At the end, the winners will perform at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, within the chamber music project Domenica al Comunale – Music Garden, showcase of the best talents of the main regional musical institutions.
Furthermore, in order to promote the artistic success of young talents, the Contest has established a network of collaborations with important institutions so that winners will have the opportunity to perform in concerts and events. Some of the winners have officially joined the YMEO – Young Musicians European Orchestra, orchestral formation founded by Maestro Paolo Olmi, others have performed at the prestigious musical festival of the Palatine Chapel in the Royal Palace of Caserta.
Established in 2015 by the Unione Reno Galliera in partnership with the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and in collaboration with Musica Insieme of Bologna and the International Piano Academy of Imola, the project,, has counted over 600 competitors in its first four editions.
The direction is entrusted to the tenor Cristiano Cremonini, artistic director, and to the flutist Filippo Mazzoli, technical director.
