Stasera gioco in casa – Canzoni di una vita (“Tonight I have the home court advantage – Songs of a lifetime”) is the new artistic project by Bolognese singer Gianni Morandi: 25 concerts and the warm embrace of his fans, to share memories, emotions and most of all great music.
The Teatro Duse in Bologna, starting from 1st November 2019 until 27th February 2020, will host the 25 concerts with Gianni singing the hits that made him win the affection of more than one generation, while telling the audience about the most important moments of his life – stories, meetings, challenges and dreams.
The artist chose to come back on stage of historical Duse Theatre in Bologna, to pay a personal and special homage to the huge audience who’s always been following and loving him. After selling more than 53 million records around the world, holding a total of 4217 concerts in Italy and 426 abroad and recording his 40th album, called “D’amore d’autore” (“Love (songs), auteur (songs)”), Morandi feels the need to come back home..
“Through the songs – he says – I will tell about my journey into music and into life. I would also like to launch an unreleased song, especially written for this occasion, for this city and for this theatre, located in the heart of Bologna”.
The artist from Bologna says that in life you always come up to a moment where you feel the strong wish to come back to where you’ve started, and he perfectly remembers the first time he sang at Duse; it was the year 1964 and his legs were shaking. After so many years and after traveling around the world, it will still be a great emotion to be back in his home town, in the same theatre, which are ready to welcome him. Because it’s true: in a theatre the atmosphere is always somewhat special, the relationship created with the audience is much stronger, magic is in the air.
The project is not only the occasion to celebrate Gianni Morandi’s brilliant and long-lasting career, but mostly an opportunity to share an intimate dimension, where the great artist can open himself to his audience and talk about himself with the sincerity and humanity that have always distinguished him
