Big success for the first masterclass Fiorenza Cossotto International Opera Academy for Young Artists dedicated to young opera singers running since July 17 in Bologna. 18 singers took part in the Academy, especially from China and the USA, also from Bulgaria and UK .
The final concert will take place on Friday, July 29th, 8.45 p.m, at the Foyer of the Teatro Comunale with a rich programme of operatic songs from Italian and French tradition (free admission).
In these very intensive days young singers could perfect the Italian and French repertoire with the mezzo-soprano Fiorenza Cossotto and Masters Nicoletta Conti and Guenko Guechev.
The lessons were held mainly at the Museum of Music, superb palace the students appreciated both for its excellent acoustics and for the elegance; in some cases at the unique setting of the Teatro Comunale. Not forgetting that many were the occasions to discover the musical history through Verdi’s sites and the city of Bologna which, not surprisingly, boasts the title of UNESCO Creative City of Music.
The success of this first masterclass, possible also thanks to the support of the Municipality of Bologna, Euro Atlantic Art Foundation and International Museum of Music of Bologna, will be the starting point for the planning of future editions.
