The strong commitment to social issues characterizes the activity of the Bolognese Ensemble Concordanze: there are more than one hundred the concerts held in prisons, psychiatric and health structures.
The group shares many of its values with Live Music Now, the international organization founded by Yehudi Menuhin, who since 1977 brought music in hospitals, in prisons, to help who suffers poverty and social stigma.
On 1 June 2017, Ensemble Concordanze, in trio with a piano, performed as a premiere in Leipzig at Mendelssohn Haus, the home-museum of the great composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, who together with Johann Sebastian Bach represents the greater glory of the Saxon city.
The following day, thanks to the collaboration with the local section of Live Music Now, Concordanze had a concert at the Haus am Silbersee healthcare Hospital, thus responding to its traditional mission.
LMN & Ensemble Concordanze – music as solidarity is one of the 19 projects selected in the call for the internationalisation of Bolognese music 2016/17, to help musicians, artists and other workers to perform on an international stage, through participation in festivals, tours and exchanges.
