The Musical Association Conoscere la musica – Mario Pellegrini will host on Thursday 20 November 2014 at 20.30, in Santa Cristina church, the 27-year-old winner of the 2nd International Guitar Competition Maurizio Biasini – cciMB, held from 9 to 15 September 2013 in Basel, Switzerland. The first edition of the competition, whose aim is to promote the musical career of talented young guitarists, took place in Bologna in 2011. Held biannually, the cciMB alternates between cities of great musical tradition: the third edition is scheduled in San Francisco (USA) from 14 to 17 January 2016.
Emanuele Buono, born in Turin, won several other renowned competitions in 2013, such as the Classical Guitar Competition Michele Pittaluga, the prestigious Parkening International Guitar Competition in Malibu, USA, and the International Guitar Competition of Split in Croatia. In 2008, while still a student, he was awarded the prestigious Golden Guitar as best young performer of the year at the XIII International Guitar Congress of Alexandria. He has been invited to hold concerts in music theaters of worldwide fame, such as the Carnegie Hall in New York and the Hermitage Theatre in Saint Petersburg, and on 5 March 2015 he will perform in the Rising Stars concert series for young talents organized by the Allgemeine Musikgesellschaft Basel. The program of the recital comprises music from different periods, from the Renaissance to the 20th century, with works by Da Milano, Aguado, Giuliani, Rodrigo and José.
The concert is free of charge on a space-available basis.
