2017 being a 10-year anniversary, the “Classics in Class” event was split into two parts.
The first took place on Saturday, 8 April, consisting in the production of a work by Raffaele Sargenti, written specifically for young people. The second part will be held on Monday, 15 May, at 8 pm, and will present the usual concert of Bologna area schools.
The auditorium of St. Lucia will host instrumental and choral groups as well as instrumental soloists covering the entire scholastic curriculum, from primary school to secondary schools. Each performance will be introduced by the pupils themselves, illustrating historical context and highlighting the salient features of the music presented. In turn, teachers will explain the goals of the educational programmes, thus joining the two aspects of “knowing” and “making” music.
The show features a rich programme both in its selection of music, ranging from the 500s to the 1900s, and in its instrumental formations. It should also be noted that students of the “Musicalliceo” orchestra will present a piece composed by a very young student, Chiara Piletti, a pupil of Professor Cristina Landuzzi at the G.B. Martini conservatory.
“Classics in Class” aims to foster dialogue between schools and the university in the field of music pedagogy, in order to improve the learning of music, essential for the cultural and social development of the person.
