After touring South Corea, Japan and Taiwan, the MOG – Molinella Ocarina Group flies back to Far East: from 6 to 14 January they are in Nanchino, China.
The group, beside performing in a series of evening concerts, will also hold masterclasses addressed to 200 teachers who have decided to use Ocarina, the terracotta wind musical instrument invented in Budrio in the 19th century, as a music preparatory instrument in the place of the recorder.
Included in the concert repertoire are the classic pieces by Shostakovic, Rossini and Verdi, i.e. Italian folk music, but also a number of Chinese folk pieces, especially arranged by Maestro Emiliano Bernagozzi for this occasion.
The Molinella Ocarina Group on tour is performing with an unprecedented composition, although still under the artistic direction of Emiliano Bernagozzi: the debuting Giovanni Gherardi and Riccardo Madonia are joining the long standing Doralice Minghetti, Valentina Gnudi, Sageevan Sarvanatham, Alberto Ciarrocca.
And this wonderful 7-element-group proves how the whole Bolognese Ocarina movement has been always taking some step forward.
