Bologna selects musicians and cultural operators that appear on the international stage in festivals, tours and exchanges, as well as those that welcome artists from other UNESCO Creative Cities of Music.
A total sum of 50,000 euros is available in grants of a maximum of 3000 euros to associations active in the area of the Metropolitan City of Bologna for projects realised between 1 January 2016 and 31 July 2017.
The proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the creative and innovative quality of the project, its economic sustainability and representiveness of the Bolognese territory.
Projects which can demonstrate existing international links and exchanges with prestigious hosting organisations and whicih advance Bologna’s reputation as a creative city are preferred.
Applications for grants must be received by the 24 November and should thoroughly illustrate the initiative of internationalisation, the members involved, the predicted and/or exact budget and the eventual financial contribution of the hosting organisations.
Matteo Lepore, Economics and City Promotion councillor at the Town Council of Bologna, states: “Musicians are and will continue to be ever more so our ambassadors in the world. The programme of highlighting Bologna’s UNESCO City of Music recognition, as part of a wider project of international cooperation which will develop exchanges and joint promotion of the cities, aims to promote Bologna’s musical production, encouraging creativity and innovation in the sector.”
