Bologna UNESCO City of Music has been long supporting and promoting its music production also at international level.
This year again, through the Call for Projects on Music Export, the Music Office of the City of Bologna, within the Culture and City Promotion Department, Creative Industries and Tourism Division, is allocating a total amount of 50.000 Euros to favour artists’ international mobility in the music field, for projects to be developed during the years 2019 and 2020.
The 2019-2020 call is addressed to subjects operating in the music field and based in the area of the Metropolitan City of Bologna: associations, foundations, private social bodies but also public schools and education institutions, as well as enterprises or free lances.
The maximum contribution for each projects is 3.000 Euros, as a partial reimbursement of the expenses and in any case up to the 80% of the total costs.
The Municipality shall support the selected projects, by means of its communication channels and by granting the use of Bologna UNESCO City of Music logo.
The projects shall be developed during the period between January 1st 2019 and 31st December 2020, and the contribution shall partially cover the costs to participate in Festivals, tours, art events to take place outside the Italian borders.
The applications shall be submitted by September 17th, 2019 – h 1.00 p.m. – exclusively online.
The proposals shall be considered taking into account the quality of the project as regards creativity, skills, innovation, social interest and export strategy of the artists involved, beside their technical and economic feasibility. Moreover, a priority shall be given to the international relationships already existing with the host city, especially if it’s a UNESCO Creative City of Music, in coherence with the promotion targets of the city, the prestige of the hosting city and the presence of partners.
Over the years, calls like this have been supporting several projects beyond the borders: starting in 2014 with 11 projects for a total of 20.000 Euros, amount increased to 30.000 Euros in 2015 with 12 projects, and so on until last two editions, each granting 50.000 Euros to 19 projects.
