Bologna Festival starts its 35th edition with the starring presence of internationally renowned orchestras and soloists: starting from March 15, 2016 a number of symphonic groups and conductors with a long and wide experience will be on stage, as well as new emerging talents of classic concert music.
The portrait of the artist Ian Bostridge – Schubertiade, dedicated to one of the major lieder singers of today, and the contemporary project America Novecento, including absolute premiéres, complete the rich programme of the Festival, which offers both traditional programmes, such as Grandi Interpreti (Bigs), Talenti (Talents), Il Nuovo l’Antico (The New, the Ancient) and new special projects. like introducing some newly arriving publications through five meetings called “Sinfonia di pagine – Sabato in libreria” (Symphony of pages – Saturday at the bookshop), a cultural journey called “Lipsia and Weimar: Not only Bach”, leading us into the heart of the great German music tradition, and whereas other four workshops called “La poesia del canto” will enrich the knowledge of the world of Lieder.
Baby BoFe’, the 9th edition of the festival of classical music for children, offers three musics shows and one new opera production. The programme includes works by several different theatre companies, whereas the opera “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini, is produced in cooperation with Teatro Comunale of Bologna and Theatre La Baracca- Testoni Ragazzi.
