From 5 to 8 May 2015, the Pipe Organs Week returns, thanks to the collaboration between the Association ‘Organi Antichi’, the Conservatoire of Music G.B. Martini and the Royal College of Spain in Bologna. The occasion is offered by the recent restoration, by Francesco Zanin, of the precious organ by Joseph de Sesma (Zaragoza, 1688), which is preserved in the Church of San Clemente, inside the Royal College of Spain in Bologna.
The program of events includes a master-class on Spanish Organ Music, held by Master Xavier Artigas, who is performing at the Royal College on Tuesday 5th May, at 6 p.m.
During the follow-up meeting, Francesco Zanin will lead an “organ tour” through the Royal College of Spain, San Petronio church and San Procolo church, where he will also present two more instruments recently restored: the one in Reinassance style and the other in Baroque style.
The week will end on Friday 8th in the Sala Bossi of the music conservatory, with a concert conducted by Master Marco Arlotti and Master Andrea Macinanti, artistic director of the ‘Organi Antichi’ Festival. Before the concert, a pipe organ marathon will be held, in which all the students who attended the previous events can participate.
