The third edition of BMA – Bologna Musica d’Autore, the contest for young singer/songwriter, changes its format and becomes a Showcase Festival, extending in a wider space and time dimension.
Soloist musicians or bands, aged between 16 and 35, are required to send their unpublished songs within the 2nd June, deadline for the applications.
The eight artists selected will perform in the most important live music venues in town: June 18 at Le Serre of Giardini Margherita, July 16 on a private showcase at Fonoprint studios with renowned operators of the music field, September 20 and October 4 at Covo Club, and October 18 the grand final at Teatro Duse in Bologna, with anchorman Matteo Bordone from Rai Radio 2.
During the final night and in the two previews at Covo Club, the BMA participants will be supported by a few guest stars of the new Italian scene.
The jury to select the best music proposals will be chaired by Mogol, and include Alessandro Ceccarelli (BPM Concerti), Matteo Romagnoli (Garrincha Dischi), Parix Hilton (artist and producer) and Sergio Cerruti (President of AFI).
The Absolute Winner will be granted 10 days for recording, mixing and mastering at Fonoprint studios, with the resident sound technician.
The Winner of the Best Text Prize will receive a grant for a complete training at CET – Centro Europeo di Toscolano, the Mogoll music school in the heart of Italy.
The Winner of the Best Live Performance Prize will have the recording and publishing of an episode of “Fonoprint Live Session”.
The Contest and the related events are promoted by Fonoprint Studios, with the support of Emilia Romagna Region.
