Mid Sweden University launches the call for Valuing and Evaluating Creativity for Sustainable Regional Development conference, expected in Östersund (Sweden) on 12-14 September 2016. This scientific conference is designed to support and open the 10th Annual Summit of UNESCO Creative Cities Network, which will be held on 14-16 September 2016 in Östersund, UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy.
The conference organizers invite proposals featuring research and evaluation on the cultural and creative sectors as resources and drivers for sustainable regional development. Delegates from the UCCN, researchers, evaluators, students, policymakers, funders, commissioners of research and evaluation, practitioners, and other stakeholders are invited to submit proposals for scientific presentations.
Additional topics of interest include strategies showing promise for enhancing the economic, social, cultural, and environmental development of creative cities and regions; theoretical foundations informing current research and practice; methods used to research and evaluate cities of culture; measures being used to assess progress in sustainable urban/regional development; findings from studies focusing on cities/regions of culture, including in-depth case studies of Creative Cities, pilot projects, and examples of collaboration among creative cities/regions; lessons learned that might inform the work of other studying, leading, funding, or developing policy regarding creative cities and regions; policies and practices that appear to be most/least helpful in supporting sustainable urban/regional development.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 1000 words and emailed to email@example.com. Deadline for conference proposal submissions: March 31, 2016.
